Fahimeh Orvati Nia
Texas A&M University
I’m a PhD student in Computer Engineering at Texas A&M University, advised by Dr. Joshua Peeples, and affiliated with the Advanced Vision and Learning Lab (AVLL). I earned my Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Notre Dame in 2025 and my Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from Amirkabir University of Technology in 2020.
Research Focus
- Computer vision for 2D multispectral plant phenotyping
- Image classification and feature aggregation (pooling)
- Machine learning for agricultural imaging and decision support
- Human behavior modeling and pedestrian intent prediction
Looking ahead, I aim to develop smart, automated plant phenotyping systems that support data-driven agriculture.
